About the Event

We’re back for year two of the Community Coffee Champs (CCC), bringing Barista, Brewers Cup, Latte Art, and Cup Tasters competitions to coffee communities across Australia.

This year in Victoria, the CCC will run across two weekends at C4 Coffee Roasters in Clayton South, giving competitors more space, more time, and more opportunity to get involved.

Weekend One (31st July - 2 August) will host Brewers Cup and Cup Tasters.
Weekend Two (8 - 9 August) will host Barista and Latte Art.

The CCC are the official preliminary events leading into the Australian Coffee Championships (ACC). Designed to uncover and support local talent, these competitions are all about accessibility, community, and real café skills.

Coffee competitions can feel intimidating - but not this one. The CCC creates a welcoming, level playing field where every competitor gets the chance to shine. You’ll step up to a fully equipped bench, brew your best, and serve judges as if they were your customers.

Inspired by the early days of the World Barista Championship, the format brings things back to the café—where it all began. Competitors play the barista, judges play the guests. It’s authentic, practical, and grounded in everyday service.

Each event is led by regional sub-committees made up of passionate local coffee professionals, ensuring every stop reflects the community it represents. It’s a competition built by the community, for the community.

To wrap things up, join us on Saturday 9 August for offsite announcements for both the VIC/TAS CCC as well as the Nationals Finalists during a networking event/afterparty in central Melbourne (location to be announced).
