ASCA Brewers Cup Judges Workshop  -  Sydney

Get ready to elevate your sensory game and prepare for the upcoming Community Coffee Champs (CCC) with this two-day Brewers Cup Judges Workshop in Sydney.

This workshop is designed for anyone eager to deepen their understanding of coffee evaluation and the Brewers Cup judging process - whether you’re preparing to judge, thinking about competing in future seasons, or just looking to sharpen your sensory and communication skills.

This workshop welcomes participants who:

• Want to learn how to judge the Brewers Cup.
• Seek to improve sensory and descriptive ability.
• Are looking to raise judging and competition standards.
• Wish to experience the Brewers Cup competition platform.
• Plan to compete in future Brewers Cup seasons.

Please note: applications will not be accepted from those coaching or competing in any 2027 Brewers Cup competition (any region or country), including the 2027 WCC competition year.

Workshop Agenda

Day 1

• Introduction to the Brewers Cup
• Understanding of Rules & Regulations
• Developing sensory skills and articulation
• How to assess each category on the scoresheet
• Exploration of flavor lexicons

Day 2

• Hands-on practice with the scoresheet
• Mock judging and calibration sessions
• Deliberation, debrief, and judging feedback
• Q&A session with Nuno Park
• Introduction to upcoming ASCA events, including the CCC
