Option-O Brewing Battle Final is a community-focused brewing competition designed to explore flavour clarity, brewing technique and sensory expression through manual brewing.
Hosted at the Option-O Brew Lab in Carlton, this event brings together a small group of brewers, industry professionals and coffee enthusiasts for an afternoon of friendly competition and collaborative learning.
Competitors will receive 300g coffees to prepare in the battle(Geisha/Decaf/Robusta).
Manual brewing methods in a head-to-head format, where technique, flavour balance and overall cup quality are evaluated by judges blindly. The competition is designed to highlight brewing precision, sensory understanding and the ability to translate coffee potential into the cup.
Participants and spectators will have the opportunity to:
• Experience a live brewing competition environment
• Observe different brewing approaches and extraction strategies
• Taste coffees brewed by competitors
• Engage in discussion around flavour structure and brewing decisions
The event is intentionally kept small and interactive, allowing for open dialogue between competitors, judges and the audience.
Whether you are a brewer looking to test your skills, an industry professional interested in sensory calibration, or a coffee enthusiast curious about the craft of brewing, the Option-O Brewing Battle offers a dynamic and engaging coffee experience.
